The Canary Islands weather is exceptional all year round. This is one of main reasons why the tourism is so high every year. The temperature in these beautiful islands rarely drops below 17 Celsius in winter. In summer, this can reach as high as 40 Celsius or even hotter.

The Canary Islands enjoy a sub-tropical climate. The winters are mild with hot summers. There is precious little rainfall here during the summer months. Millions travel south from the colder northern climate to these islands to enjoy some winter sun.
Canary Islands Weather in September, October & November
The weather in the Canary Islands during September, October and November is hot. The days of rainfall will now begin to increase. September can be as hot as August as the warm weather continues for the whole of autumn.
The average temperature here begins to decrease in October. Rainfall becomes more significant as autumn reaches it’s conclusion.
September is also a hot month in most of the Canary Islands. Sometimes as hot as August for the eastern islands. September sees the return of some rainfall after the barren summer months. The sea temperature stays around 23 Celsius.
There are at least three days of rain but the average temperature tends to stay around 27 Celsius. Many days can still exceed 30 Celsius. A high of 41.8 Celsius was recorded at Tenerife South Airport. You will still be needing plenty of sun cream if visiting during this month.
October is usually when the temperature begins to cool a little. This month will see plenty more rain than previous months. The average temperature in October is still around 24 Celsius in most places. The rainfall will likely be double that of September as the temperature cools.
The Sea temperature remains warm at around 22 Celsius and plenty of days can still exceed 30 Celsius. A high of 38.1 Celsius was recorded in Tenerife in October. Some of the other islands have seen hotter temperatures during this month.
November will see another increase in the amount of rainfall across the Canaries. The average daily temperature will now cool to around 20 Celsius. The Sea temperature will also decrease leading up to winter.
The hours of sunshine is now decreasing to around 7 hours per day. It’s not uncommon for the temperature to be to 30 Celsius at times during November. The evenings during this month will also begin to feel much cooler.
